This March 17, Saskatoon was shining pink, as the city enjoyed delicious baked-goods while creating a milestone for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation’s Youth Advisory Council- Saskatoon.
YAC Saskatoon was formed last year for spreading awareness and raising funds for Breast Cancer. The council organized their first fundraiser- a Bake Sale at Lawson Heights Mall in the north end of the city. On a perfect Saturday, Saskatoon enjoyed various baked goods ranging from decorative breast cancer ribbon sugar cookies to lip smacking cupcakes.
It was a great success as they raised over $300 in just a couple of hours, while distributing informational pamphlets. The council is excited for what they have accomplished and are looking forward to many more events like this.
Until next time,
